The Register-Herald newspaper, March 29, reported that West Virginia is ranked 49th in per capita income. Thank God for Mississippi!
The average income for us was $29,537. Last year while that national average was $38,611.
West Virginians, it's our economy.
IF WE CONTINUE TO VOTE THE WAY WE HAVE THE RESULTS WILL CONTINUE
TO BE THE SAME. New and expanded businesses create jobs.
We need to encourage growth not by hesitant inches but by bold
leaps, well thought out incentives to assist new and current
business development. This will increase our tax base in order
to be more able to provide necessary services especially our senior
citizens some of whom have great difficulty deciding between food
and medicine.
West Virginians, it's our education.
Work to ensure our schools are safe, drug free, and provide the
quality education necessary for immediate employment, entry into one
and two year program, and have the advanced programs so that our
graduates are prepared for university life. Our teachers
need to be able to take graduate classes in our region of the state
for the in depth knowledge in their teaching fields rather than
having to spend 8-10 weeks in the summer their own expense away from
home at a university that offers that course work.
West Virginians, it's our Senior Citizens.
Medication and other medical/health, home health care as well as long term term care concerns affect nearly every family. As our state population ages decisions have to be made.
There is a lot to be done.
I will bring the same enthusiasm and dedication of public office which I have shown in teaching. My particular interests are: economic development, concern about elder care, and of course, education.
We have heard in the news that it's time for a change. For Summers and Raleigh counties I want to be part of that change.
I am, Wayne Conner, Republican candidate for House of Delegates, 27th District.
I ask for your confidence and support.
My wife, Carolyn (deceased), son Jared and I have made this our home nearly our entire married life. The rivers, the mountains, the people, what a beautiful place to live.
I am currently an adjunct math instructor at New River Community and Technical College, Lewisburg campus.
